Now Showing | Mark Leonard: Common Threads at Louis Stern Fine Arts
Louis Stern Fine Arts is pleased to present Mark Leonard: Common Threads. The woven forms, twisted ropes, and lustrous spheres that appear, withdraw, and re-emerge in Leonard’s works throughout the decades connect them across time and narrative concerns. From the artist’s recent works to some of his earliest, created as he first began training as a painter, Leonard (a former conservator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Getty, and the Dallas Art Museum) has retained the same fundamental methodology: mining a timeless vocabulary of recurring geometric motifs to give material shape to the pleasures and perils of human experience.
Immerse yourself in a creative journey where ocean meets glass. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll choose from a selection of glassware—vases, carafes, wine glasses, planters & more—& transform it into a stunning, textured masterpiece using our signature 3D painting techniques. We’ll seal the pieces at the end, ensuring they’re water resistant, safe to hand wash & fully functional.
With expert guidance, you’ll capture the movement of crashing waves & the serenity of coastal landscapes, layering rich acrylics & sculptural details to create a one-of-a-kind functional artwork.
