“Buy to Forget: Zombie Urbanism” with Frances Anderton at WestEdge

Join the West Hollywood Design District’s DIEM at this year’s WestEdge Design Fair. As part of the Jenn-Air Master Class Studio- Panels and Design Conversations, Frances Anderton will moderate a talk titled, Buy to Forget: Zombie Urbanism.

Host and producer of KCRW’s DnA: Design and Architecture and DIEM co-curator, Frances Anderton will lead the discussion on Friday, October 23 from 4:00-5:00pm with panelists Trip Haenisch, Jaime Rummerfield and Ron Woodson.

What happens to design when no one is home? LA has seen an explosion of overseas buyers – often for cash – spending on second, third and fourth homes. This has implications for our social fabric — and for the choice of fabric! What happens to the role of the interior designer when they are designing without the input of a client? Is it a lonely business – or a huge relief?

My job is to understand these aspirations and release them into a very special space for the residents.” Says Ron. Ron is ever-exploring new materials, furniture forms, colors and fixtures always with a nod to the past.

Jaime Rummerfield has a signature California sensibility that is comprised of classic design training mixed with a fashion forward design approach. Jaime is touted as one of the nation’s top young Interior Designers by Traditional Home, Town & Country and House Beautiful magazines. Her creative eye is second to none in focusing on the science behind color, texture, balance, proportion and scale that is applied to creating memorable and pleasing spaces.
